I have to say I am one of the most fortunate people to send my instruments to Patrick. While I tinker with guitars as well, I truly appreciate and value how his work leads to a truly perfected instrument. Patrick always answers any of my questions and I value his time and experience more than anyone else. If you are looking for a luthier technician, Patrick McGrath is the best in the business.
Thank you Patrick for allowing me to be the best that I can through you offering the best you do.

Patrick is the best!
I've had dozens of instruments and amps repaired by him in the last few years. He really knows his stuff (he's worked for Westwood Music and Carruthers Guitars up in LA) and can do everything from a basic setup to a re-fret to a neck-reset on a vintage instrument. His prices are very fair, his turnaround time is quick and customer service is unparalleled. He's a hell of guitar/bass player to boot.
I've been to about a dozen different "luthiers" and guitar repair shops in OC over the last 15 years - Patrick will be getting all of my business from now on

Patrick did work a couple years back on my Silvertone mandolin, probably from 20s-30s. It had a gap in the bookmatched soundboard due to shrinkage. He did a masterful job piecing in the gap, installing a missing nut & restringing it. I just picked up my prima balalaika. He glued down the pickguard which came loose at one point. Both insts play like a charm. I would recommend his shop to anyone.
